Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee our procurement activities and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in the solar or manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of supply chain management and purchasing processes. This role requires strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to optimize costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships to meet company objectives.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, and finance teams, to understand requirements and align procurement activities with business goals.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to receipt of goods, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards.
- Conduct supplier assessments and audits to ensure adherence to contractual agreements and ethical practices.
- Analyze purchasing data, trends, and key performance indicators to identify areas for optimization and cost reduction.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and internal departments, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory requirements, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with specific experience in the solar or manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing procurement processes.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the solar or manufacturing industry.
