Procurement Planning:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for civil construction projects.
Prepare and manage project-specific procurement plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Supplier Management:
Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure cost-effective deals.
Monitor supplier performance and maintain a database of qualified suppliers.
Material Management:
Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, and services required for projects.
Ensure materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
Oversee inventory management and coordinate with the project team for timely material availability.
Cost Control:
Track and manage procurement costs to stay within budgetary constraints.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or project timelines.
Risk Management:
Identify potential procurement risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
Prepare and present procurement reports to management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient material handling and storage.
Market Research:
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and price fluctuations.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve procurement strategies and practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, specifically in the civil construction industry.
Proven experience in managing procurement for large-scale civil projects.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and services.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
Experience with sustainable procurement practices.
Knowledge of local and international construction material markets.
Working Conditions:
Based in the office with regular visits to construction sites and supplier facilities.
May require occasional travel depending on project locations.
