Job Description
- Lead the project activities for New Product Development (NPD) from the inquiry stage to sample dispatch at the customer end.
- Prepare Tool, Product, and Process designs & conduct feasibility studies for customer inquiries.
- Perform costing of products by analyzing customer requirements.
- Plan and schedule new development projects.
- Conduct APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) kick-off meetings with cross-functional teams (CFT) to develop and maintain detailed project plans.
- Complete tooling design for special and standard fasteners on multi-station Bolt former (6 Station), Nut former, & Part former machines.
- Develop advanced tool designs aimed at optimum tool life & continuous improvement in tool setups.
- Lead cold forging trials on the shop floor during the initial part development stage.
- Ensure product responsibility from the first design phase till the end of production.
- Independently design and develop special fasteners and Cold Forging Dies and fixtures.
- Design layouts with respect to function, tolerance, stability, and material selection to fulfill customer product specifications.
- Study drawings & standards received from customers.
- Foster teamwork with suppliers and interdepartmental teams for work preparation, quality, & testing during the design phase as well as in production.
- Prepare, update & maintain ECN (Engineering Change Notice) documents for product & process changes.
